Teapots are one of the most technically demanding forms in ceramics. This two-day intensive walks you through the entire process, from theory to a finished, assembled teapot, giving you the chance to experiment, share ideas, and be inspired alongside fellow potters.

You'll throw every component — body, spout, lid, and handle, including throwing off the hump — then trim and assemble your pot with an eye for how each part works together.

We'll cover volume and balance in the teapot body, spout design for a clean pour, ergonomic handles, a secure lid fit, and how to troubleshoot common pitfalls like joint cracking, uneven pouring, and lid warping. By the end of the workshop, your teapot will be trimmed, assembled, and ready for firing.

Prerequisite: Recommended for potters with prior wheel-throwing or hand-building experience. Students should be confident throwing even cylinders and rounded shapes.
