Introductory courses guide students through the full ceramic process, from wedging and wheel throwing to handbuilding, trimming, and glazing, helping to establish strong foundational skills.

Beginner Handbuilding
Explore the fundamentals of handbuilding in this beginner-friendly pottery course. Students will learn techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab building, and use of the extruder to create functional and sculptural ceramic forms, along with an introduction to glazing and surface decoration.
Beginner Wheel Throwing
Build a strong foundation in wheel throwing in this multi-week pottery course. Students will learn essential techniques such as wedging, centering, and pulling clay to create forms like cylinders, cups, and bowls, while also exploring trimming and glazing.
Family Studio Time: Handbuilding
Designed as a fun, imaginative, and family-friendly experience, this workshop encourages creativity through hands-on clay building and character design while introducing foundational ceramic techniques in an approachable and engaging way. The session invites families to slow down, work with clay, and enjoy the creative process together while crafting handmade ceramic pieces.
Intro to Wheel Throwing
Explore the fundamentals of wheel throwing in this beginner-friendly class. Participants will learn techniques such as centering and shaping clay on the wheel to create simple, functional ceramic forms. Designed as a casual, hands-on experience, the session invites you to experiment with clay, enjoy a BYOB studio atmosphere, and create your own handmade piece.
